Pete Johnston (of Eduserv) presented an introduction to the Dublin Core Abstract Model. During his talk, Pete highlighted the context and motivation for the DCAM, expanding into application profiles and encoding guidelines. Finally, Pete put forward his thoughts on DC in 2007.

Pete followed up his initial presentation with a short update on LOM→DC mapping, advising there had been little change since the similar presentation in June 2006's SIG meeting.

Julie Allinson (UKOLN) spoke about the Dublin Core Application Profile for Scholarly Works (ePrints). Julie's presentation covered the background, model, application profile and vocabularies, and community acceptance, among other topics.

Rosemary Russell gave a short update on UK DCMI affiliate work at UKOLN. Rosemary advised promoting the use of DC and adoptions of new profiles (e.g. ePrints profile) were important, in addition to mentioning other affiliates.

Sarah Currier - moderator of the DCMI Education Community - spoke about DC-Ed, providing a background and covering the DC-Ed application profile.
