Linking formal and informal learning

Once a year, CETIS takes stock of where we're at with educational technology, and where we need to go next. We need you to tell us, and that's why we really want you to join us for the third JISC/CETIS conference.

This year, the focus is going to be on the gap between learning within the (fire)wall of a well-established institution and learning on the wild web and beyond. Not that the distinction between formal and informal ends with a network boundary - it also touches on the learning we do throughout our lives. So we'll be looking at things such as how various episodes of learning get strung together, how we manage the learning resources we use and how use tools from all sorts of places to do that managing.

Sessions and outcomes

Participants are also encouraged to use the existing wiki pages to post outcomes and notes from the various sessions

Beyond a little provocation, the sessions are about the contributions of experts such as yourselves, rather than CETIS presentations. At the end of the two days, we want a roadmap fot the next year of development. How we get there is pretty open, as long as it involves many voices, and not too much Powerpoint.

We’ll also have just a couple of keynotes from leading figures from eLearning, as well as the latest from JISC and its new programmes.
