This working group was formed after the widget session at the JISC - CETIS 2008 conference. In order to get to a position where a variety of useful widgets can be used easily in a variety of teaching and learning environments, the work has divided in two parts:
1) Building a widget infrastructure such that a collaborative widget server is available to anyone in the H/FE sector, which includes developing widget server plug-ins for all major web platforms and making widgets easily discoverable and embedable
2) Determining models of widget use in teaching practice, and decide what widgets need developing
The first stage of the group focused around infrastructure needs based on the W3C and shindig approaches.
