Welcome to the JISC CETIS (Centre for Educational Technology & Interoperability Standards) Pedagogy Forum.
Open to all in UK Higher and Further Education, The Pedagogy Forum to date has identified good practice in the use of interoperability standards and specifications and also seeks to benefit from the wide experience of the UK learning technology community to input into these. It is highly important that the e-learning standards meet educational needs as well as fulfilling technical requirements, and for that we value your input.
The group is run as a forum, where members can share experiences, discuss issues, and suggest solutions. It was launched in April 2003 in response to a need for the issues raised by CETIS Special Interest Groups (SIGS) to be discussed in a wider context and a broader audience.
The Forum discusses issues such as
eLearning standards and specifications to date have been rather infrastructural and technology focused. The Pedagogy Forum seeks to ensure that the 'learning' is put into learning technology specification, and to generate a meaningful dialogue with those whose focus is on pedagogy.
To date, the Pedagogy Forum met several times a year in various locations throughout the UK (often held as joint events with other CETIS SIGS. Meetings are open to everyone and are advertised on the JISC CETIS Pedagogy JISCMail Discussion list which you are welcome to join - this is a low volume list with announcements and discussions / questions raised between meetings.
